Disability essay

There are many children in the world who are not like us. It is important to understand that such people also deserve the same kind of love and care and the normal people deserve. In fact, such kids deserve much more than that because ideally they are the gifts of god. The people who suffer from diseases like autism know that they are not doing things which should be done but they are not able to have control over their mind. They are not able to concentrate in one go as the normal people can do. Thus they bang their heads, make noises but on the inner side they also want love and care. Such special kids should be loved and should be treated like the other normal kids. They should not be discriminated as they understand everything and one may not understand how they feel. It is a common proof that many of such people are extremely talented. Their talents should be recognized and they should be given a chance not out of pity but because they deserve to be a part of the normal world.
When god made us he definitely knew that we are not that strong and are really weak that is why he chose them for this because they are his special kids. The parents of such kids need to have a lot of patience and should love their child more than the other normal sibling. They have to understand that their child is special and they should not give on him. The inner voice will find the way one day.
It should be noted that people suffering from such diseases are abandoned by their parents when they come to know of the disease. This should not happen. People should be compassionate and understand that they are humans too and they also get hurt. The only difference is that they can’t express. Infact they are the ones who are away from any kind of negativity. They will love as purely as god loves one. Thus it should be concluded that special kids should be treated special as they are really special.

Culture and Personality in Anthropology

Read the section about Culture and Personality in Anthropology. Answer these questions about that section:-

1. Define “Anthropology” in your own words: The study of human history and culture.

2. Define “movement” in this context: The migration of people.

3. What do you understand by “socialization of children” Give an example: This is where your culture tells you how you raise your children.

4. Read this sentence again and give examples of childrearing in different societies and cultures: “socialization creates personality patterns. It helps shape peoples emotions, thoughts, behaviors, cultural values and norms to fit into and function as productive members in the surrounding human society. The study of culture and personality demonstrates that different socialization practices such as childrearing in different societies (cultures) result in different personality types.”
Consider “bed time” in different cultures; Some Emirati families do not have a set bed time for the children. In most Western cultures, children often do have a specific bed time.

5. Read this sentence again and say to what extent you agree: “all humans are the same when born, but childrearing in different societies causes deviations in behavior and personalities from each other.” I totally agree with this statement.

6. Reflect on the reading above. Can you see a link between your culture and your personality? Think about that in relation to your own culture first, and then think about personality and culture in a different society. Reflect. Give examples. My own personality is best reflected by the fact that I am a very laid back person. I am not one who rushes around like a crazy person, because in my culture, impatience is not a good thing. My American friend, seems to be in big hurry all of the time, and can seem very impatient to me.
