A Class Divided

This experiment was taken in 1970 by Ms jane Elliott and this documentary was made by William Peter for ABC news.therefore, the civil rights act of 1967 brought about the most significant changes in civil rights production in the history of united states that provided for equal housing opportunities regardless of race, creed, or nathonal origin, basically this experiment is trying to teach the children NOT to be racist and the teacher is ddoing this by showing them what is like to be treated unfairly by the colour of thair eyes, As an example. At the end, the all understand how crazy it is to judge somebody by the colour of their skin. In my point of view, i believe the way she gave this experiment to the children was great. it will really change those children minds and not to be discriminate others anymore.

USA Map - ethnocentric!

In my point of view as an Emarat, I personally think that we might appear to be ethnocentric in some specific situations. for examle, its just like everybody else when you will hear a negative comment or feedback about your country, religionor race you will straight away take an immediate re-action against the negative opinions about your country. As an Emairate, I'm proud of the history we have and how peaceful our religion is toward all other religions. In this case I would name myself ethnocentric but in positive way and with good attention.

 Dwight D. Eisenhower
A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both.
It means that if society feels that they are entitled to things instead of working for them that they will lose sight that they need to work to support the system that provides them with these privileges. So without the support of the people the system will collapse therefore leaving no privileges or system (work ethic, principles, etc.).
 martin luther king jr
All men are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality.

that our lives are unavoidably connected with each other -- like a network of threads that can't really be untied/unknotted, and that we share a common destiny, whatever it may be.
Sheik Zayed

"He who does not know his past cannot make the best of his present and future, for it is from the past that we learn.”
Any country that doesn’t value its past, can’t appreciate its present or future. This country, thanks to God, has a rich past, does well for now and its expected future.

 Amin Maalouf

Every individual is a meeting ground for many different allegiances, and sometimes these loyalties conflict with one another and confront the person who harbors them with difficult choices.
People sometimes goes in deep thinking on who they have to give their loyalty (god, presidents or parents) .  witch let them doubt on their beliefs and that lead to internal conflicts.
 Mohandas Gandhi.
A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and souls of its people.
as much  people are educated and aware of what is happening as they will be on the top of the world list
 Amin Maalouf
Traditions deserve to be respected only insofar as they are respectable – that is, exactly insofar as they themselves respect the fundamental rights of men and women.
Traditional things must be respected by men and women and they must be careful of what they are adding to it (clothes , language, behavior).
ML King Jr.
God is not merely interested in the freedom of brown men, yellow men, red men and black men .He is interested in the freedom of the whole human race.
God doesn’t care about skin color. God cares about freedom for everyone.
 Desmond Tutu
My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together.
People must help each other to survive and to have a fair life.
Frank Borman
When you're finally up on the moon, looking back at the earth, all these differences and nationalistic traits are pretty well going to blend and you're going to get a concept that maybe this is really one world and why the hell can't we learn to live together like decent people
Looking at the earth from space, one wonders why we can’t get along decently.
 Pablo Casals
The love of one’s country is a splendid thing, but why should it stop at the border?
The relationship between States and their people have to be as brother and more, because that can put an end to the world’s problems like, war, famines and jealousy between each other.
DD. Eisenhower
The world must learn to work together, or finally it will not work at all.
If people of the world can’t get along, nothing will work.
 Sheikh Zayed
Many countries go to war and then towards reconciliation. The history of mankind is full of stories of wars between people and states that have come together after fighting for long. Why can't Arabs be like them?
Arabs should learn a lesson from the historical events and became on one hand.
 Martin Luther King, Jr
He means in ‘my children’ the next generations that are coming after them, they should have a fair live and be judge as white people on their act not on their color or skin.
 Amin Maalouf
For it is often the way we look at other people that imprisons them within their own narrowest allegiances. And it is also the way we look at them that may set them free.

Many people have a beautiful faces but they lacks character and its content and vice versa, so judge people on what inside not outside.

Disability essay

There are many children in the world who are not like us. It is important to understand that such people also deserve the same kind of love and care and the normal people deserve. In fact, such kids deserve much more than that because ideally they are the gifts of god. The people who suffer from diseases like autism know that they are not doing things which should be done but they are not able to have control over their mind. They are not able to concentrate in one go as the normal people can do. Thus they bang their heads, make noises but on the inner side they also want love and care. Such special kids should be loved and should be treated like the other normal kids. They should not be discriminated as they understand everything and one may not understand how they feel. It is a common proof that many of such people are extremely talented. Their talents should be recognized and they should be given a chance not out of pity but because they deserve to be a part of the normal world.
When god made us he definitely knew that we are not that strong and are really weak that is why he chose them for this because they are his special kids. The parents of such kids need to have a lot of patience and should love their child more than the other normal sibling. They have to understand that their child is special and they should not give on him. The inner voice will find the way one day.
It should be noted that people suffering from such diseases are abandoned by their parents when they come to know of the disease. This should not happen. People should be compassionate and understand that they are humans too and they also get hurt. The only difference is that they can’t express. Infact they are the ones who are away from any kind of negativity. They will love as purely as god loves one. Thus it should be concluded that special kids should be treated special as they are really special.

Culture and Personality in Anthropology

Read the section about Culture and Personality in Anthropology. Answer these questions about that section:-

1. Define “Anthropology” in your own words: The study of human history and culture.

2. Define “movement” in this context: The migration of people.

3. What do you understand by “socialization of children” Give an example: This is where your culture tells you how you raise your children.

4. Read this sentence again and give examples of childrearing in different societies and cultures: “socialization creates personality patterns. It helps shape peoples emotions, thoughts, behaviors, cultural values and norms to fit into and function as productive members in the surrounding human society. The study of culture and personality demonstrates that different socialization practices such as childrearing in different societies (cultures) result in different personality types.”
Consider “bed time” in different cultures; Some Emirati families do not have a set bed time for the children. In most Western cultures, children often do have a specific bed time.

5. Read this sentence again and say to what extent you agree: “all humans are the same when born, but childrearing in different societies causes deviations in behavior and personalities from each other.” I totally agree with this statement.

6. Reflect on the reading above. Can you see a link between your culture and your personality? Think about that in relation to your own culture first, and then think about personality and culture in a different society. Reflect. Give examples. My own personality is best reflected by the fact that I am a very laid back person. I am not one who rushes around like a crazy person, because in my culture, impatience is not a good thing. My American friend, seems to be in big hurry all of the time, and can seem very impatient to me.
